My first memory of falling in love with art was when I was about 4. I would lie on my back and draw on the underside of our coffee table. I gleefully doodled 8 legged dogs and horses like a tiny Michelangelo. I'm not sure my parents knew what I had done until we moved, when they eventually flipped over the coffee table to discover my stick figure Sistine Chapel.
Throughout my childhood, I drew regularly and furiously. I drew enough that I managed to make it into the visual arts magnet at my high school and then eventually the graphic design department of Western Kentucky University. It was there I was first encouraged to pursue illustration as a career, and the notion that it could be my job absolutely changed my life. I was, and still am, enamored with the idea that one day my art could be used to tell stories.
Since graduating in 2016, I've done countless art commissions, opened an online store, vended at art shows, and held contract design jobs. I currently live with my husband (a fellow artist) and our two cats in Raleigh, NC. I love cartoons, children's books, vintage fashion, theme parks, and all things Halloween. When I'm not drawing, you can find me playing piano or pretending I know how to bake.
